It's true. It is possible to make your own DIY solar panels at home! And guess what, thousands of people are already doing it. Up until recently it was impossible to install solar panels without paying some company at least $15,000 and that's if you're lucky.
For myself (and maybe you?) that is not an option and frankly it makes no sense to pay something that extreme when the whole point is to save money by producing your own solar energy.
The good news is that it's possible to make your own solar panels for a fraction of the cost that you would pay to a professional installer and the best part is that it's actually fairly easy and surprisingly fun.
I had no experience when I decided I wanted to make my own solar energy panels. I searched the web and read every bit of information on how to make solar panels. The solar panels I made work perfectly and I use them to power some of my appliances. It was a very rewarding feeling knowing that not only did I make my own solar panels but I was now relying less on the power company and saving money on my energy bill.

How Easy Is It To Make Your Own Solar Panel?
It is as easy as following basic instructions. If you can do that then you can make your own solar panels. Trust me when I say I am the least DIY savvy person out there so even I was surprised that something that sounds difficult is actually simple... of course I did have a very good step-by-step guide so I can't take all the credit.
What do you need to make solar panels?
Well, the most important part of a solar panel is the solar cells. I thought these would be expensive but the guide I used showed me how to get cheap parts. You will also need a surface, I used wood which can be bought cheap at your local hardware store. Some other items required will be plexi-glass to protect your panel, some tabbing wire as well as some basic tools. That's pretty much it.
